Three Teenagers Injured After Car Driven Into Crowd During Disturbance in Skerries

Three teenagers were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries after a car was driven at a group of people during a public order incident in Skerries, County Dublin, on Saturday night.

Gardaí have launched an investigation into the incident, which unfolded on Harbour Road at around 9.30pm after a large gathering of young people reportedly descended into violence.

According to Gardaí, officers were called to the scene following reports of a public order disturbance. Initial inquiries indicate that a significant number of youths had gathered in the area before a fight broke out.

During the course of the altercation, a car was allegedly driven toward a number of people, leaving three teenagers injured.

The injured were identified as two female teenagers and one male teenager. Emergency services attended the scene before the victims were transported to Beaumont Hospital for medical treatment.

Gardaí confirmed that all three sustained injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

The area was secured while officers carried out initial examinations and began gathering evidence. Investigators are working to establish the sequence of events that led to the disturbance and the circumstances surrounding the vehicle being driven into the crowd.

Witnesses are expected to be interviewed as part of the investigation, and Gardaí are likely to review any available CCTV footage from the area as well as video recordings that may have been captured by members of the public.

The incident caused alarm among local residents and those in the busy harbour area on Saturday evening, with emergency responders arriving shortly after reports of the disturbance.

No arrests have been announced, and Gardaí have not released details about the driver or the vehicle involved.

Authorities said inquiries remain ongoing as they seek to determine whether any criminal offences were committed during the incident.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the events on Harbour Road or who may have recorded footage on mobile phones or dashboard cameras to come forward and assist the investigation.

The latest incident comes amid continued concerns over public order disturbances involving large gatherings of youths in some parts of the country, particularly during weekends and school holidays. Gardaí have increased patrols in several areas in recent months in an effort to prevent similar incidents and respond quickly when disorder occurs.

Investigators are continuing to examine all available evidence, and further updates are expected as the inquiry progresses. The condition of the three injured teenagers remains stable as they receive treatment for their injuries at Beaumont Hospital.
